UGC-B. VOC SCHEME
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF. The B.Voc programme is focused on universities and colleges providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their NOSs along with broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India's economy by "gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge
OBJECTIVES
- To provide judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education.
- To ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills, so that they are work ready to each exit point of the programmme
- To provide flexibility to the students by means of predefined entry and multiple exit points.
- To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements. Such graduates apart from meeting the need of local and national industry are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce
LINGAYA’S VIDYAPEETH SCHOOL OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING (LV-SVT)
The Work Based Learning Program (WBLP) is introduced by LV-SVT, it has a unique blend of the practical / hands-on training at a specified industry location and a classroom/face to face training for general component, the key focus is on the practical skills acquisition by the learner in the specific job role which is required in the industry to perform various tasks. WBLP enables the learners to learn in a real practical learning environment and a learner learns by actually performing a specific job or task, the leaner will perform the job and learns as he goes.
Objectives of WBLP
- The WBLP program helps learners of transferring theory learning to practice as the trainee receives job Knowledge and gains experience from his supervisor in each of the different job assignments
- Learner gets the Opportunity to learn on the same machines and experience the real work handling techniques as according to the requirement and approved standards of the Organization, above all the trainee is learning while earning.
- WBLP program Prepares a learner with an overview of job, its Purpose, and helps trainee to focus and strengthen the weaker areas.
BACHELOR OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION (B.VOC) PROGRAMMES.
Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) is a 3 year undergraduate course having multiple entry and exits, It is unlike the other typical UG courses, the curriculum for this program is mapped with job roles in accordance with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). The course's curriculum is industry-based and work-integrated.
